Biography
Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1956, A Kui (real name Hsu Tzu-Kuei) graduated with a BA from the National Taiwan Normal University in 1980, before continuing his education at the Graduate School of Art and Design, Pratt Institute, New York, where he was awarded an MFA in 1988. He has held teaching and administrative posts at universities in Taiwan, including Tainan University of Technology, and his work has been shown widely throughout Taiwan and in Mainland China. A Kui lives and works in Tainan.
