Notes
Huang Zan-Lun’s work explores the uneasy relationship between human beings and the machines we have designed, suggesting that we face a post-human future in which robots may well render flesh and blood humans redundant. This profile portrait of a girl whose transparent, cutaway skull reveals part human skeleton, part robot, may well be a beautiful android. Her jointed neck and arms recall fairy tales (and horror movies) about dolls who come to life and wreak havoc.
