Essentially self-taught, Taiwanese artist Hung Yi has created a psychedelic menagerie of stylised animals that reveals influences from sources as diverse as Taiwanese folk art, Japanese textile design, pop art and children’s cartoons. His public sculptures have been installed throughout Taiwan, and the smaller works in the White Rabbit Collection are similarly playful, revealing his intention to make accessible works that delight audiences.
