Biography
Hung Yi was born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1970. His works are inspired by traditional Taiwanese culture or day-to-day life in Taiwan. Often combining influences from cartoons and his own observational sketches, he created large, colourful works of graphic art before developing a sculptural body of work and venturing into public art. Many works feature exaggerated or distorted animal forms in vivid colour and traditional Taiwanese patterns.
