Biography
Huang Shun-Ting is a painter based in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from the Fine Arts Taipei National University and is currently completing his PhD at the Tainan National University of the Arts. Employing a pop, multi-layered aesthetic, Huang explores his interest in Taiwanese Hokkien and Mandarin homophones to reinterpret traditional auspicious painting. He has exhibited widely across Taiwan with four solo shows in Taipei to date. Huang was the recipient of the 2016 ‘Made in Taiwan-Young Artist Discovery’ Award, the 2014 ‘8th Long Yen Foundation Creative Arts Award,’ and the 2013 ‘18th DA DUN Fine Arts Exhibition’ Award of Taichung City.
