Biography
Born in Jiangxi Province in 1980, multi-disciplinary artist You Piao was awarded an MFA from Guangzhou Academy of Arts in 2017. His abstract paintings made up of small vertical brush-marks are inflected equally by influences from twentieth-century American Abstract Expressionism and the ‘maximalism’ of Chinese abstraction which is inflected by Buddhist philosophy and the history of literati ink painting and calligraphy. You Piao lives and works in Guangzhou.
