Xue Yongjun and Zhu Yiqing are contemporary Chinese artists born in the 1970s, in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. Their upbringing during a time of cultural transformation influenced their exploration of the collision between cultures in their artwork. They use the traditional Chinese seal as a medium for creation. Their subjects encompass political, traditional cultural, and popular cultural images. Their work reflects a tension between East and West, traditional and modern, and handmade and automated.
