Biography
Born in 1953 in Chongqing, a major city in south-western China. The artist is a contemporary of Wang Zhiyuan’s. Like many others of her generation, the artist is bewildered by the rapid change China has undergone in the last half-century. She is well-known for her video art, and spent some time experiencing the danger and hardships of Tibet. Her famous 1998 photographic series, ‘Moving Rainbow’ was created at this time. Today she has what she describes as, “a cramped studio” in the 798 District, of Beijing.
