Zhou Bin, born in 1970 in Xi'an, Shaanxi, is a highly regarded artist known for his experimental spirit and diverse artistic practice. He graduated from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1990 and later relocated to Chengdu, where he currently resides and works. Zhou Bin initially focused on oil painting but eventually shifted his creative approach to encompass performance, installation, and video art. He embraced performance art and delved into its creative practice and theoretical research, challenging boundaries and addressing political and social issues. Zhou Bin's works explore a wide range of subjects, from everyday minutiae to geopolitics, and he emphasizes the importance of spontaneity and unpredictability in his artistic expression.
