Biography
Born in the south-west Taiwanese city of Chiayi in 1960, painter Tai Ming-Te graduated from National Taiwan Academy of Arts (now Taipei National University of the Arts) in 1983, and in 2000 was awarded an MFA from Tainan National University of the Arts. He works in a graphic style inspired by both western and eastern traditions of wood-block printing and late twentieth century neo-Expressionist painting. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as in the USA, Japan, Korea, France, Italy and Hungary. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor at four universities: National Kaohsiung University; National Chiayi University; National Chung Cheng University and National Tainan University. Tai Ming-Te lives and works in Chiayi.
