Biography
Hsu Mei-Ing, also known as Meiing Hsu, was born in 1957 in Taipei. In 1985, she received her MA from the University of Iowa in design and then returned to Taiwan, teaching at Tunghai University as a lecturer in the fine arts department for seven years. In 1994, she awarded her MFA in jewellery and metal arts from the same university in America. Her work includes vessels, jewellery and sculpture, and her major techniques range from metal surface embellishment to enamelling, chasing and repousse, casting from nature and moulding from actual plants.
