Immortals’ Trails in Secret Land (2012) audaciously appropriates imagery from sources as eclectic as Edward Lear’s nineteenth century drawings of parrots; jewellery belonging to the sixteenth century Duchess Anna of Bavaria; illuminated manuscripts and ornate Rococo furniture to produce something that looks like a Baroque tapestry. A stuffed snake slithers into the picture from the left, reminding us of lost innocence.
