Hu Xiangqian loves the gallant heroes and extraordinary feats of wuxia novels and movies. He says: I often like to flip through martial arts teaching manuals and keep an eye out for how these materials use lines to indicate trajectories of movement on the page. As I see it, it’s quite beautiful. So, I used a cartoon-like method to depict this, retaining all of the lines indicating trajectories of movement to form a ‘painting’.
