Lin Ke’s works are “live” records of his interactions with his computer screen. Here he recasts the digital space of the graphical user interface as an analogue of outer space. Most people have used the polygon drawing tool in Photoshop or Paint. Lin Ke plays with it on an image of the night sky. To a sci-fi soundtrack of buzzes, bleeps and cockpit chatter, his cursor pulls “flight lines” from one star to the next—until the route of his star trek seems to acquire a mind of its own.
