Jin Shan says ambiguity appeals to him because it confounds would-be censors while multiplying the possibilities of meaning. In this work he edits online videos of animal attacks into blurry, chaotic sequences that mock our need to make sense of what we see. We are left with just a visceral sensation of violence, fear and confusion. Jin Shan is suggesting that this is everyday life in the modern world.
